21 British Recipes You Need to Know

My love affair with British food started after college when my husband and I lived in a small flat outside of London and got to explore this diverse cuisine through lots of takeaway, pub meals, and street food ~ plus occasionally shopping at the corner markets and cooking for ourselves in a teeny tiny kitchen.

You'd think considering our national history we'd have more of a taste for British food here in the US, but I find it's often misunderstood and definitely underrepresented in restaurants and cookbooks.

During that time we also developed a passion for anything British chef Yotam Ottolenghi makes!

Butterscotch Pudding 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This is the first butterscotch pudding I have ever tried–was craving it, and came online to find one. This is delicious and simple! Love the trick of melting the brown sugar in water. I used half and half because I didn’t have cream, and it still turned out perfectly. Yum!

I love to make delicious food, photograph it, and write about it, but mostly, I just love to EAT. Isn’t that what it’s all about? My recipes are bold and vibrant, but totally approachable ~ and my philosophy? We should all have the tools to feed ourselves well, and the confidence to cut loose a little in the kitchen. Food should be fun!

Pico de Gallo Salad I had a bunch of pretty heirloom cherry tomatoes on the counter, so I chopped them up and turned my usual pico into more of a salad situation ~ and now I can’t stop making it. what tastes good with pico de gallo salad Tacos Tacos Tacos!
