It's HERE! 👉 (Your AUGUST Bucket List)

Hey friends❣️

I love the month of August because at some point, I never know exactly when, I'll catch that first whiff of fall ~ the signal that my favorite season isn't far away.

But even I have to admit August has a lot going for it. The food is spectacular. Everything is in season, and everything tastes amazing.

Your must make recipes for August

Almond Fig Cake

Chunky snack cakes made with late summer fruit are a staple in my August kitchen.

  1. Dimply Plum Cake
  2. Blackberry Buttermilk Cake

Lemony Tuscan Artichoke Soup

After a long absence hot soups start to sound good again. These transitional August soups feel just right.

  1. Fire Roasted Tomato Soup
  2. Three Sisters Soup

S'Mores Cookie Pie

August always comes with a little clock ticking in the background, along with the urge to squeeze in everything we meant to do this summer ~ especially those iconic memory-making desserts.

  1. Classic Blueberry Pie
  2. Cherry Crumble Pie

Apple Cider Doughnut Loaf Cake

Apple season kicks off in August, which is super exciting around here. My apple recipe collection is epic!

  1. Puff Pastry Apple Streudel
  2. Irish Apple Cake

Spiced Peach Cobbler Bars

And of course we're still eating our weight in stone fruit.

I grab for this multiple times a day

A silicone spoonula is hands down my favorite kitchen utensil. I rely on it for batters and doughs, and can't imagine making puddings and custards without it, so I have multiples.

I always buy a one-piece design, so there's no handle to break off, and it's easier to clean. I love these tools!!

Greek Shrimp Packets with Orzo

What's for dinner in August?

  1. Chicken Margherita Pasta
  2. Miso Glazed Salmon

Melon Salad with Chili and Lime

And last but not least melon is peaking this month, so now is the time to enjoy it.

~ Sue Moran

My recipes are bold and vibrant, but totally approachable ~ and my philosophy? We should all have the tools to feed ourselves well, and the confidence to cut loose a little in the kitchen. Food should be fun!

See you at the table!

Hot butterscotch sundae

Hey friends❣️ Happy Sunday! Wow, it’s the last Sunday in July. That was fast. August might technically be high summer, but it never quite feels that way. Once August 1st hits, life starts moving in a different direction, which is all the more reason to drink in these days while we can. I’m sharing a little personal summer nostalgia today.
