The Flavor is Beyond Words...💜

Hey friends❣️

After 15 years of professional recipe development I don't think I've ever come across a more vibrant flavor...

Black Raspberry Vinaigrette

It's berry picking season and I'm sharing a few recipes that can be made with just a handful or two of your precious finds.

The rhythm of summer produce is so satisfying. We're not ready for stone fruits or ripe melons just yet, but oh, the berries! If you're lucky enough to be able to pick your own, it's the ultimate experience, and these recipes won't deplete your hard earned stash.

Are you plucking your fruit from the produce aisle? No worries, that works too!

Using berries as a garnish is one way to make use of small amounts of perfect fruit:

These individual desserts can be customized to any size:

Sweet Corn Polenta with Shrimp 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

My husband loves creamed corn and polenta, so when I saw this beautiful recipe, I had to try it. We loved it! We kept going back to the kitchen for snitches 🙂 after our dinner. We are so thankful there are leftovers for lunch the next day! Thank you for a wonderful recipe!
I also liked the idea of using whole milk to keep the polenta creamy.

I love to make delicious food, photograph it, and write about it, but mostly, I just love to EAT. Isn’t that what it’s all about? My recipes are bold and vibrant, but totally approachable ~ and my philosophy? We should all have the tools to feed ourselves well, and the confidence to cut loose a little in the kitchen. Food should be fun!

BBQ Side Dishes

Hey friends❣️ I’m a side dish kind of girl, whether it’s Thanksgiving or the Fourth. The mains can have their moment, but I’m always circling back to the backup dishes ~ that’s where all the fun is. Today I’m sharing my favorite summer barbecue side dishes, the kind that make the whole meal feel like a spread. Corn, beans, biscuits, salads, slaws… basically everything I want on my plate before I even get to the ribs. BBQ Sides get the recipes Did you know? You can set The View from Great...

Americana charcuterie board

Hey friends❣️ I’m excited to share this project with you ~ we had such fun working on it. This milestone Fourth of July feels complicated to me. The usual flags-on-everything approach doesn’t feel quite right this year, so I’m going with a classic piece of Americana instead: the star quilt. And I’m making it into a charcuterie board. Hot Honey Corn Biscuits

Hey friends❣️ These hot honey cornmeal biscuits are a little gift from me to you. Biscuits are the easiest quick bread to make. Despite the name, these aren’t super hot or spicy, although you can fix that ;) Cornmeal and masa harina make them extra flavorful. They go with barbecue, chowders, chili…you name it. I made to-die-for fried chicken and coleslaw sammies with mine. Hot Honey Corn Biscuits get the recipe Did you know? You can set The View from Great Island as a trusted source on...
