Cozy British Baking & Comfort Food 🇬🇧

Hey friends❣️

The British really do cozy better than just about anyone ~ from afternoon tea with scones and clotted cream to simple cakes, shortbread, puddings, and savory pies. We owe them a big thanks, because so many “classic” foods we love here in the U.S. trace their roots back to British kitchens.

British Recipes You Need to Know

My love affair with British food started after college, when my husband and I lived in a small flat just outside London and got to know the cuisine through lots of takeaway, pub meals, and street food ~ plus the occasional trip to the corner market and cooking for ourselves in a very teeny tiny kitchen.

You’d think, given our shared history, we’d have more of a taste for British food here in the U.S., but it still doesn’t get the love it deserves in restaurants or cookbooks.

If you’re one who thinks British food is boring, check out British chef Yotam Ottolenghi ~ his food is colorful, bold, and anything but dull.

I love to make delicious food, photograph it, and write about it, but mostly, I just love to EAT. Isn’t that what it’s all about? My recipes are bold and vibrant, but totally approachable ~ and my philosophy? We should all have the tools to feed ourselves well, and the confidence to cut loose a little in the kitchen. Food should be fun!
