Less is More 🦃 When it Comes to This Thanksgiving Menu Item!!

Hey friends❣️

Simple appetizers are the way to go during the busy holidays where big meals are the norm. You don't want folks to fill up ~ just the opposite! You want to whet their appetite for the real deal to come...

Thanksgiving Snack Mix

We do snack mix all the time at our house. We make a big batch, and my husband is in charge of doling it out in small bowls during the cocktail hour. People lunge for it. Our 2 year old granddaughter asks for it the minute she enters our door.

I've tailor made this one just for Thanksgiving, complete with French's fried onions! I think you'll have fun with this one, and you can make it up way in advance.

Simple Cracker Canapés

I've always loved Ritz, (I serve my smoked whitefish dip and smoked trout dip with them, and they make the perfect base for colorful canapé made with pantry basics.

The Old Fashioned Relish Tray

Back before there were cheese plates and charcuterie boards there were relish trays ~ and they're making a comeback! These low carb offerings are perfect for pre-holiday appetizer hours (don't for get the deviled eggs!) Everybody will feel so elegant and nobody will get prematurely stuffed :)

Charcuterie Cups

My new favorite appetizer ~ everybody gets to carry their own adorable mini cheese board around with them as they mingle.

Olive Platter

Olives are the quintessential appetizer ~ they have a natural bitterness and salty brininess that gets our digestive juices flowing. I'll sometimes roast them for a super cozy dish.

Raid your supermarket olive bar for all the fixings.

Brownie Pudding 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I made this for Mother’s Day and it was a huge hit. Five people inhaled it. Super easy to make. I put it in the oven when we sat down to eat, so was ready when we finished with brunch. I served it with Jamoca Almond Fudge ice cream since I was not able to find regular coffee ice cream. So good with this combo. I am the type of cook that always looks for easy and quick, and this fit my criteria. Plus, it was delish.

I love to make delicious food, photograph it, and write about it, but mostly, I just love to EAT. Isn’t that what it’s all about? My recipes are bold and vibrant, but totally approachable ~ and my philosophy? We should all have the tools to feed ourselves well, and the confidence to cut loose a little in the kitchen. Food should be fun!
