One-and-Done Summer Apps Everybody's Talking About 👏👏👏

Hey friends❣️

I must be in the right business because I have such fun every week coming up with new ideas to share with you. It's definitely work that feels like play :)

I seem to be on an appetizer kick this week (it's always been my favorite hour of the day) and I've got 2 creative new appetizer recipes for you today. The throughline is easy one-and-done type snacks that can and should stand on their own. Maybe it's the warmer weather but I'm moving away from elaborate plates and show-stopping platters in favor of these light but super flavorful ideas...

Cheddar Walnut Savory Shortbread

One bite of these cheesy, salty, toasty shortbread crackers is enough to hook you for life. And they're rich and satisfying ~ one cracker, (okay maybe two) nibbled slowly, will sustain you through the cocktail hour. And yes, you can make them a part of a bigger appetizer board, but you don't have to.

The best part? You can roll up your log of savory shortbread dough and stash it in the fridge or freezer for last minute guests.

But my favorite new creation in months has to be these stuffed olive picks ~ each juicy olive is an individual little flavor bomb and I really really think you should try them.

You can use olive bar olives, but I also give directions for stuffing and marinating your own. I mix the two, and the flavor combos are limitless!

Lemon Olive Oil Cake 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I baked this for a friend who loves lemon. Everyone at the table in the restaurant LOVE it!!!! They liked that it wasn’t too sweet – like so many American desserts! WILL MAKE AGAIN! Thanks for the GREAT directions too!

I love to make delicious food, photograph it, and write about it, but mostly, I just love to EAT. Isn’t that what it’s all about? My recipes are bold and vibrant, but totally approachable ~ and my philosophy? We should all have the tools to feed ourselves well, and the confidence to cut loose a little in the kitchen. Food should be fun!

palmiers

Hey friends❣️ One of the best perks of working from home? I can slip out to the patio whenever I need a little reset. It’s my happy place these days ~ I’ll mess around in the herb garden, yank a few weeds, or just sit and listen to the birds for a bit before heading back to the kitchen to wrangle the day’s recipe ⚔️ The patio is also the spot where I enjoy that all important end of the day snack!
