Steak dinner ☀️ summer edit

Hey friends❣️

I can’t think of a better warm-weather dinner than tender ribbons of juicy steak over crisp greens, especially when there’s a tangy A.1. dressing involved. This is the kind of dinner I make at home, it helps stretch the budget and makes everybody happy (can you say crispy onion strings?)

Steak Salad

The pan I use for searing steak

I love my cast iron skillet because I can give the steak that perfect deep brown stove top sear and then slide it right into the oven to finish cooking. Every kitchen needs one.

I use it for Apple Cake and Peach Buckle, too!

Lemon Balm Tea

"I find Lemon Balm relaxing yet energizing. It’s lovely to taste fresh organic lemon balm again. Thank you so much for your easy recipe 🙂"

I love to make delicious food, photograph it, and write about it, but mostly, I just love to EAT. Isn’t that what it’s all about? My recipes are bold and vibrant, but totally approachable ~ and my philosophy? We should all have the tools to feed ourselves well, and the confidence to cut loose a little in the kitchen. Food should be fun.

viral sprinkle topped dot cakes

knead Hey friends❣️ Jumping in quickly this Monday morning because over the weekend I made the viral dot cakes everyone’s talking about, and I wanted to share while they’re still fresh. I got the hype immediately: soft cake, buttercream, and that crunchy sprinkle top that makes the whole thing. It's an easy yes. And of course I had to give them a lemony Great Island spin. Viral Lemon Dot Cakes If you’ve got kids in your life, they’ll be all over these, but my adult taste-testers were every...

no bake tiramisu

knead Hey friends❣️ The transition from May to June feels especially abrupt. I always feel a little rushed this month, like everything good shows up at once and I’m already missing out. So let's jump right in, tonight we'll have no-bake slab tiramisu for dessert, and tomorrow I'll start working through the rest of our list! Your must make recipes for June HOW TO QUICK PICKLE ANYTHING! This month I stockpile quick pickles to top hot dogs, burgers, brats, and sandwiches, but also as easy sides...

Asian slaw

Hey friends❣️ As the season moves forward, I’m relying more and more on interesting salads topped with some sort of protein for dinner. It ticks all my boxes: it’s relatively easy, can be prepped ahead, it’s satisfying, and I feel like I’m making up for whatever little food detours happened earlier in the day ;) Asian Slaw with Peanut Dressing get the recipe One reader says: "The peanut dressing on this Asian slaw should be bottled and sold!" She's right, it turns a healthy salad into...
