🌿 Sunday on Great Island

Happy Sunday!

My younger daughter and her boyfriend moved into a rental house on the other side of town, and they threw a housewarming party this week. Hanging over the fence in the backyard was a massive mulberry tree, so you know I didn't leave that party without a Ziploc baggie full of juicy little purple mulberries.

I haven't shared a mulberry recipe yet on my site, so this will be a first. Can you guess what I made?

But today we've got a heat advisory, so slaw is on the menu, in a big way. It's what I make for myself all summer, and the only thing I bring to a potluck anymore.

  • It stays crisp so I can make it ahead.
  • You can slaw just about anything, from cabbage to beets and snap peas.
  • I feel like I get my day's worth of fresh veggies in one single swoop.
  • We top it with salmon, a burger, or air-fried chicken and call it dinner.
