The Nourishing Dessert that Hit the Spot!๐Ÿ‘Œ

โ€‹

Hey friendsโฃ๏ธ

My husband was the last of our extended family to fall to this crazy super flu. When he emerged from the bedroom the other day I offered him a warm cup of freshly made coconut rice pudding. A bit later I could hear his raspy voice saying 'that hit the spot.'

I'll take that. Any little comfort in the storm

Creamy spoonable dessert (the British call it nursery food) is just what the moment calls for. Bonus ~ these recipes tend to be on the more nourishing end of the dessert spectrum.

Delicious and surprisingly easy to make!! As true Swedes we added a bit more cardamom to the filling layer, but that's personal preference.

I love to make delicious food, photograph it, and write about it, but mostly, I just love to EAT. Isnโ€™t that what itโ€™s all about? My recipes are bold and vibrant, but totally approachable ~ and my philosophy? We should all have the tools to feed ourselves well, and the confidence to cut loose a little in the kitchen. Food should be fun!

Greek Avgolemono Soup

Hey friendsโฃ๏ธ Iโ€™m sharing one of my favorite soups with you today ~ it comes from sunny Greece and itโ€™s ridiculously simple to make. If you love lemon, chicken, and rice (or pasta), youโ€™re going to love this one. Iโ€™m also sharing a new-old bread from the 1970s. Anna Thomas herself calls it โ€œthe best bread Iโ€™ve ever made,โ€ which is high praise from someone who defined the era and inspired so many of us with a lifelong respect for real food.
