Two of my Favorite Spring Things! 💗💗

Published 13 days ago • 1 min read

Hey friends❣️

So many things to love about spring, here are two of my faves...

Simple Rhubarb Sauce

I'm obsessed with color in my cooking, I'm also obsessed with tart flavors (like lemon!) and this quick rhubarb sauce is right up my alley. Depending on your rhubarb it will be anywhere from palest pink to an eye-popping magenta, but it will always have that insanely delicious and unique flavor.

Yes it can be frozen. Yes it can be canned! So when you see rhubarb this spring, grab it. This sauce can go over ice cream, over pound cake, or be baked into a cobbler, crumble, or crisp!

(Check your email tomorrow because I've already used it in a new recipe!)

May Lilac Recipes

Did you know that lilacs are edible? My bushes are blooming right now and it's time to get creative with these epic flowers!

Early spring is the best time to find and harvest edible flowers, pansies are one of the most common and most fun to use in salads and desserts.

Chive and Parsley Pesto 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Omg! This pesto is sooooo good! For all the various greens I have made pesto with, I never would have thought to use chives, but it is out-of-this-world fabuloso delicious!

I love to make delicious food, photograph it, and write about it, but mostly, I just love to EAT. Isn’t that what it’s all about? My recipes are bold and vibrant, but totally approachable ~ and my philosophy? We should all have the tools to feed ourselves well, and the confidence to cut loose a little in the kitchen. Food should be fun!

Hey friends❣️ The weather this weekend is absolutely perfect for picnics and potlucks, but it all comes on sort of suddenly, doesn't it? I've collected my best shareable summer salads so you won't get caught short. Summer Potluck Salads for 2024 I love summer potluck salads, I really don't need much of anything else on my paper plate. This collection is pretty comprehensive, from bean salads to couscous salads, and everything in between. Have fun browsing! What do you feel like today? what...

Hey friends❣️ I'm all about rice bowls today. Rice, and rice substitutes like cauliflower rice and broccoli rice are perfect for lighter spring dinners. Teriyaki Chicken with Broccoli Rice The broccoli rice base for these teriyaki chicken bowls was a wonderful discovery. I’ve riced cauliflower many times for lower carb dishes like my Mediterranean Cauliflower Couscous Salad and my Cauliflower Rice Tabbouleh, but for this recipe I decided to give the technique a try with broccoli. It works...

Hey friends❣️ Today I'm sharing a new cookie with a really nice soft texture and a flavor that can only be described as the essence of spring! Brown Sugar Rhubarb Cookies With all of the dozens of rhubarb recipes that have come out of the Great Island kitchen over the years, there has only ever been one other rhubarb cookie (roasted rhubarb baci di dama) ~ until now! And it’s high time: these unique soft batch brown sugar cookies loaded with diced rhubarb are amazing. They’re easy to throw...
