Hey friends❣️

Lunar New Year 2026 falls on February 17th (it's the Year of the Horse.) And while noodle bowls are always on my radar, this is an especially fun time to experiment with them.

From pantry friendly Peanut Butter Noodles, to my new favorite Creamy Ramen with Chili Crisp, these cozy bowls are affordable and adaptable, with that irresistible mix of bright flavors and comforting carbs I'm craving this time of year.

Tangerine Shortbread Tart w/ Rosemary 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Amazing flavors, huge hit! I was looking for something to make for a small gathering of folks with particular tastes and did test runs of this and the Turkish Coffee Shortbread. The tangerine marmalade was perfect with the fresh rosemary shortbread. The only change I made was to bake it in a quarter sheet pan so I could cut it into squares. While it didn’t fill the quarter sheet, the dough was easily shaped into a rectangle. The party food rules said no forks, fingers only. Worked like a charm. Another home run recipe that will be repeated!

I love to make delicious food, photograph it, and write about it, but mostly, I just love to EAT. Isn’t that what it’s all about? My recipes are bold and vibrant, but totally approachable ~ and my philosophy? We should all have the tools to feed ourselves well, and the confidence to cut loose a little in the kitchen. Food should be fun!

Safe Edible Cookie Dough

Hey friends❣️ Snacking on cookie dough used to be an innocent perk of baking ~ lick the spoon, sneak a bite, no second thoughts. Then came the food-safety wake-up calls. First, raw eggs (Salmonella). Later, and more surprisingly, raw flour, after E. coli outbreaks in the 2000s showed that flour itself can carry harmful bacteria. Home cooks tried heating their own flour, but the FDA has since warned that this isn’t a reliable solution. Only commercially heat-treated flour is considered truly...

homemade yogurt

Hey friends❣️ Cold enough for ya? When I’m hunkered down for a chilly weekend I usually bake, but this time I changed things up and made yogurt instead. This is the high-protein homemade yogurt I learned to make in my very first restaurant job, and I’ve been making it ever since. Even if you don’t think you love yogurt, give this a try ~ it’s creamy and mild, not sharp or harsh, and naturally high in protein. And then there’s the viral 2-Ingredient Japanese “Cheesecake” ~ one of the rare...
