Doing a Little Hippie Era Baking Today✌️🌸

Hey friends❣️

The Hippie generation's contribution to our food culture is often forgotten ~ whole grains, granola, brown rice, miso, sprouts...and these glorious muffins!

Morning Glory Muffins

Morning Glory muffins are a child of the 1970s. They was created by Pam McKinstry, who owned the Morning Glory Café on Nantucket Island. After the recipe was published in 1981 in Gourmet magazine it exploded in popularity (it was later selected as one of the magazine’s 25 favorite recipes from the past 50 years!) The Morning Glory craze faded by the 2000s, but these chunky muffins are too good to be lost to history. (I love these muffins so much I turned them into a cake, too!)

Brooklyn Blackout Cake 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Spectacular! My Brooklyn-born and raised mom has been talking about her fond memories of Ebinger’s blackout cake for ages, so it was only fitting that I make her this cake for her birthday. She loved it! I knew it would be delicious because every component on its own was amazing – the cake, the pudding, the frosting. They came together for a rich, super-chocolatey, decadent delight. Thank you for this recipe!!

I love to make delicious food, photograph it, and write about it, but mostly, I just love to EAT. Isn’t that what it’s all about? My recipes are bold and vibrant, but totally approachable ~ and my philosophy? We should all have the tools to feed ourselves well, and the confidence to cut loose a little in the kitchen. Food should be fun!

lemon cheesecake

Hey friends❣️ Summer 2025 has been the summer of cheesecake for me. I didn't plan it that way, but I never do with recipes. It started with my Almond Cheesecake which was so incredible (almond lovers take note!) that I stocked the fridge with little cream cheese bricks at the ready for more experiments. My No Bake Chocolate Cheesecake came next and that sealed the deal. Cheesecake really is the ultimate summer dessert, nothing can touch that cool silky experience! Lemon Cheesecake My lemon...

gluten free peanut butter cake!

Hey friends❣️ I have no problem eating gluten, but honestly some of my favorite desserts are gluten free ~ go figure! (I love the rich textures and unique flavors.) Today's cake is a gf version of a fan fave and just right for celebrating the end of a great summer season. Gluten Free Peanut Butter Cake The fact that this luscious Southern style peanut butter cake is gluten free is almost beside the point! 🥜 It's every bit as good as my original pb sheet cake. 🥜 The old fashioned Southern...
