So many of my favorite desserts have this one thing in common! ✨

Hey friends❣️

Summer 2025 has been the summer of cheesecake for me. I didn't plan it that way, but I never do with recipes.

It started with my Almond Cheesecake which was so incredible (almond lovers take note!) that I stocked the fridge with little cream cheese bricks at the ready for more experiments. My No Bake Chocolate Cheesecake came next and that sealed the deal.

Cheesecake really is the ultimate summer dessert, nothing can touch that cool silky experience!

Lemon Cheesecake

My lemon cheesecake recipe is a creamy New York style cheesecake with a vivid lemon flavor and a yummy gingersnap crumb crust. This gem of a recipe is easy to follow and bakes up beautifully every time. Here's how reader Margie puts it:

Sue – With this one recipe, I am officially a baking hero with my family and it’s all because of you, my HERO! This is the fifth lemon cheesecake I’ve been requested to make and no one can get enough. Amazing! ”

When I think about it, a crazy percentage of my favorite desserts are baked in one pan. And so many of you tell me you don't have one in your kitchen!

A springform pan is a must for a few reasons:

A good nonstick springform pan is a kitchen essential!

Almond Ricotta Cake 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Excellent recipe. My Italian host said it was the best cake she had ever tasted! I added an extra small egg, some raising agent just in case, lessened the sugar, and topped with sliced peaches. The ingredients were top quality from the market here in Italy. The freshest ground almonds and ricotta. I’m going to make it again today. 🙂

I love to make delicious food, photograph it, and write about it, but mostly, I just love to EAT. Isn’t that what it’s all about? My recipes are bold and vibrant, but totally approachable ~ and my philosophy? We should all have the tools to feed ourselves well, and the confidence to cut loose a little in the kitchen. Food should be fun!

tasting winning chili recipe

Hey friends❣️ You guys really came through for our first challenge, yay! Our winner this month is Stephanie, from Virginia. Her Spiced Chili blew us away, and it's featured on the site today! I absolutely love this chili, it's not hot, just filled with warm aromatic spices that marry together into the most unusual chili I've had in a long time. Bravo Stephanie! Stephanies Spiced Chili Great ideas from runners-up Becky sent in a super simple chili recipe perfect for beginner cooks and she...

Golden roast chicken, crispy skin

Hey friends❣️ This is the better-than-rotisserie chicken that just makes life a little bit easier, and a whole lot juicer. Roast one (or better yet two) and eat well for a week. Save the carcass to make soup and you'll basically win meal prep, win life. Perfect Roast Chicken (with lemon and herbs) I try to balance full-on cooking with shortcuts so I don't wear myself out getting dinner on the table. In this case I'm not above instant mash and frozen peas. Or have you tried those Minute rice...

British School Cake with Custard

Hey friends❣️ Do any of you watch the Great British Baking Show? This fun cake was the 'technical challenge' this week ~ it's a nostalgic little dessert that used to be served in UK schools. I tried it and…wow. New favorite. British School Cake! The combination of the vanilla sponge with a thin layer of sweet icing and the silky custard is amazing. If you've made my Irish Apple Cake you've got the idea. (The custard is similar to my Creme Anglaise except it uses whole milk, not cream.) Do any...
