It's Here 👉 Your OCTOBER Bucket List!

Hey friends❣️

We’re in the sweet spot: work and school routine has settled in, the holiday rush is way out, and we've got some quiet time to putter in the kitchen. Come hungry; I’ll bring the cider.

Your October kitchen playlist, in no particular order

My callouts this month? I'm a huge fan of mulling and I start with cider. Next month I'll move on to wine and then I get creative, you'll see. If you want to get in on the action make up a little jar of mulling spice and we'll play together.

Pasta, risotto, and of course lots of soup for dinner, but every October I lean into Scandi recipes, too. The family loves this burger skillet. And cardamom buns, lots of them.

Pumpkin crisp with scoops of melting vanilla? We have to test it a few times before Thanksgiving! 🧡

How to Mull Cider

Turn plain apple juice into my favorite warming elixir (I even make jelly!)

Butternut Squash Risotto

I can't get enough of the butternut/sage combo ~ serve this with sage focaccia!

Pumpkin Doughnut Muffins

Just look at that bite shot and tell me you aren’t hungry for one of these cute muffin/doughnuts!

How to Roast Squash Seeds

Don't throw all those seeds out, they make the best snacks!

Breakfast Pasta

Whether it's midnight or 6am, this stuff is the best.

Perfect Pumpkin Bars

The pumpkin spice lingers on the palate but the real kicker is the silky cream cheese frosting.

Chopped Steak Mushroom Gravy

A cozy and comforting supper with a Scandinavian vibe.

Pumpkin Spice Crisp

The new gold standard for pumpkin desserts, sorry not sorry pumpkin pie.

Date Nut Bread

Trust me, you need to add this classic quick bread to your recipe collection.

German Potato Soup

German Potato Soup with Bratwurst is an easy comforting recipe to add to your soup rotation.

Caramelized Onion Dip

Learn to properly caramelize onions and this simple dip with complex flavors can be yours.

Mushroom Brie Soup

Mushroom and Brie Soup is a classic creamy mushroom soup kicked up a notch.

Soft Pretzel Focaccia

This easy one hour pretzel bread recipe skips the messy bits and gets straight to the ‘yum’.

Maple Walnut Cake

This triple layer cake is perfect for fall birthdays, and holiday dessert tables, too.

Roasted Veggies

October is the harvest month, let's roast up all those incredible veggies!

Three Sisters Soup

This adaptation of a classic Native American soup recipe is a family favorite!

Sue Moran

I love to make delicious food, photograph it, and write about it, but mostly, I just love to EAT. Isn’t that what it’s all about? My recipes are bold and vibrant, but totally approachable ~ and my philosophy? We should all have the tools to feed ourselves well, and the confidence to cut loose a little in the kitchen. Food should be fun!

Golden roast chicken, crispy skin

Hey friends❣️ This is the better-than-rotisserie chicken that just makes life a little bit easier, and a whole lot juicer. Roast one (or better yet two) and eat well for a week. Save the carcass to make soup and you'll basically win meal prep, win life. Perfect Roast Chicken (with lemon and herbs) I try to balance full-on cooking with shortcuts so I don't wear myself out getting dinner on the table. In this case I'm not above instant mash and frozen peas. Or have you tried those Minute rice...
