​The Bite Shot​

Conveying the experience of eating delicious food through a photo (or video) is one of the great challenges for any food photographer, and the bite shot has always been one of my favorite ways to tell that story.

Bite shots are intimate, life-sized views that show food at its most tempting, either before, during, or after a bite. They use visual cues to suggest texture, temperature, flavor, even aroma. They’re evocative, playful, and incredibly effective.

I had a blast pulling bite shots (and their recipes!) from the Great Island archives...better grab a napkin, your mouth’s going to water.
