Even though I'll have to wait until June to go strawberry picking here in Wisconsin, the California season starts right now, and since 85-90% of the country's strawberry crop is grown there, that's good enough for me!

I noticed that the berries I found at my regular supermarket the other day were really good; the actual strawberry flavor was better than ever. And guess what? I've learned that finally, after many many decades, strawberry breeding is starting to focus on flavor and not just yield, appearance etc. That's good news for all of us 🍓

Strawberry Crumb Cake
