I Made Filet Mignon and It’s Like Velvet ❤️

Hey friends❣️

It’s steak season, friends. Not just because Valentine’s Day is around the corner, but because as winter drags on we all start craving some serious protein.

Today I’m sharing a few favorite steak recipes, and while I love them all, I’m definitely a filet girl. That silky, melt-in-your-mouth texture gets me every time ~ and the funny thing is, the fanciest steak is also the simplest to cook.

I picked up my filets at Costco, but most large grocery stores carry them, too ~ just ask at the meat counter if you don’t see them out front.

I'm also a fan of Crispy Onion Strings so I usually shallow fry up a handful to go along with. If I'm serving company I'll usually also make some sort of sauce...

Caramelized Onion Dip 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Absolutely delicious!!! The cognac takes it over the top. Loved it as a dip but also delicious atop a filet!

I love to make delicious food, photograph it, and write about it, but mostly, I just love to EAT. Isn’t that what it’s all about? My recipes are bold and vibrant, but totally approachable ~ and my philosophy? We should all have the tools to feed ourselves well, and the confidence to cut loose a little in the kitchen. Food should be fun!

Safe Edible Cookie Dough

Hey friends❣️ Snacking on cookie dough used to be an innocent perk of baking ~ lick the spoon, sneak a bite, no second thoughts. Then came the food-safety wake-up calls. First, raw eggs (Salmonella). Later, and more surprisingly, raw flour, after E. coli outbreaks in the 2000s showed that flour itself can carry harmful bacteria. Home cooks tried heating their own flour, but the FDA has since warned that this isn’t a reliable solution. Only commercially heat-treated flour is considered truly...
