February can be...a challenge to say the least. Winter's getting old, and you can't even pretend spring is around the corner.

But hey, there's always a bright spot in the kitchen with these February favorites. A cozy casserole, a perfect chocolate layer cake, a decadent mac & cheese... all good stuff.

Me? I love the Chinese Coleslaw and the Falafel Salad Bowl, I'm definitely ready for some fresh crunch. And you regulars know I can't brag enough about my copycat Raincoast Crisp crackers :)

I love to make delicious food, photograph it, and write about it, but mostly, I just love to EAT. Isn’t that what it’s all about? My recipes are bold and vibrant, but totally approachable ~ and my philosophy? We should all have the tools to feed ourselves well, and the confidence to cut loose a little in the kitchen. Food should be fun!

Hey friends❣️ Lunar New Year 2026 falls on February 17th (it's the Year of the Horse.) And while noodle bowls are always on my radar, this is an especially fun time to experiment with them. From pantry friendly Peanut Butter Noodles, to my new favorite Creamy Ramen with Chili Crisp, these cozy bowls are affordable and adaptable, with that irresistible mix of bright flavors and comforting carbs I'm craving this time of year. Noodle Bowls for the New Year Asian extras to make too! How to Make...

Safe Edible Cookie Dough

Hey friends❣️ Snacking on cookie dough used to be an innocent perk of baking ~ lick the spoon, sneak a bite, no second thoughts. Then came the food-safety wake-up calls. First, raw eggs (Salmonella). Later, and more surprisingly, raw flour, after E. coli outbreaks in the 2000s showed that flour itself can carry harmful bacteria. Home cooks tried heating their own flour, but the FDA has since warned that this isn’t a reliable solution. Only commercially heat-treated flour is considered truly...

homemade yogurt

Hey friends❣️ Cold enough for ya? When I’m hunkered down for a chilly weekend I usually bake, but this time I changed things up and made yogurt instead. This is the high-protein homemade yogurt I learned to make in my very first restaurant job, and I’ve been making it ever since. Even if you don’t think you love yogurt, give this a try ~ it’s creamy and mild, not sharp or harsh, and naturally high in protein. And then there’s the viral 2-Ingredient Japanese β€œCheesecake” ~ one of the rare...
