Hey friends❣️

Just when you thought there was nothing new in the world of muffins...

Raspberry Sunflower Seed Muffins

I love muffins and I've been working hard on perfecting the ultimate fluffy not too sweet recipe. The combination of delicate raspberries and earthy sunflower seeds is wonderful ~ I think these are the perfect transition muffin for summer into fall. I hope you give them a try.

Lemon is one of my favorite and most used flavors and when I need to boost it in baked goods I turn to lemon paste. It's got a more subtle natural taste than extract.

I love sunflower seeds, here are a few other recipes that feature them...

Hummus with Spiced Lamb Meatballs 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I made this recipe last weekend for a dinner party and it was FABULOUS. Our guests loved it and asked for the recipe! I used 100% ground lamb (not a 50-50 blend with ground beef) but I’m sure it would be excellent with the mixed meats, too. Curious: when I view this recipe I see a rating of three stars; honestly, whomever has clicked the stars hasn’t made this yet. Because this is a FIVE STAR recipe! ; – ) The tahini-sour creme sauce was also a nice add. (and I used a very good quality & very creamy store bought hummus to save time.) I’ll make these meatballs again and again……

I love to make delicious food, photograph it, and write about it, but mostly, I just love to EAT. Isn’t that what it’s all about? My recipes are bold and vibrant, but totally approachable ~ and my philosophy? We should all have the tools to feed ourselves well, and the confidence to cut loose a little in the kitchen. Food should be fun!

Turkish Coffee Shortbread

Hey friends❣️ I just had a “milestone” birthday and, naturally, all the cliché thoughts came rushing in… where’s my life going, what's next, what have I accomplished? One thing I can say without much soul-searching is that I’ve mastered the art of shortbread 🙂 I’ve created so many shortbread recipes over the years that I’m starting to circle back and revisit them. When I do, I re-test, tweak where needed, and give them a fresh set of (always delicious) new photos. Turkish Coffee Shortbread...

healthy side of salmon

Hey friends❣️ Good morning! Today I’m sharing a little bit of my personal health story with you. Like many of us, I take a statin to keep my cholesterol in check. I tolerate it well and don’t have any side effects, so it’s just been one of those background things in my life for years. About a year ago, I made a simple, delicious change: I started eating salmon two to three times a week. It wasn’t a hard sell ~ I adore it, and so does my whole family. At my most recent checkup, my lipid panel...

Classic British Recipes

Hey friends❣️ The British really do cozy better than just about anyone ~ from afternoon tea with scones and clotted cream to simple cakes, shortbread, puddings, and savory pies. We owe them a big thanks, because so many “classic” foods we love here in the U.S. trace their roots back to British kitchens. British Recipes You Need to Know My love affair with British food started after college, when my husband and I lived in a small flat just outside London and got to know the cuisine through...
