🌿 Sunday on Great Island

Hey friends❣️

Happy Sunday! Do you consider it the end of the week, or the start? I’m definitely on team end of week. But that doesn’t mean my Sundays are slow. I’m head chef for our weekly family dinner and while sometimes we go the paper plates and pizza route, it’s also a chance for me to try out fun ideas on the group.

Last week I did a baked potato bar.

I use a big 24" lazy susan (you can see it in my winter cheeseboard post.) I put it in the center of our round dining room table and arrange all the toppings in small bowls with spoons. Everybody spins the wheel to grab their favorites.

I think I had 15 toppings this week ~ some of the obvious (snipped chives, bacon bits, crumbled Gorgonzola) and some more creative:

My latest update

From 2015 this banana bread has been a favorite. It's packed with ripe banana, crushed pineapple, and coconut. Here's what readers are saying:

“Perfection, like a Hawaiian holiday!”

“This is the best banana bread recipe I’ve ever tried.”

“This is HEAVEN!!!!!!!”

“This is my family’s favourite banana bread!!”

“My kitchen smells so good right now!”

Next Week’s Sneak Peek

Coming next week I've got a new snack cake 🥕 I know you're going to love. And since it's the lead up to St. Patrick's Day I'll be sharing a little Irish cheer, for sure. (See all my Irish recipes here.)

Sue Moran

I love to make delicious food, photograph it, and write about it, but mostly, I just love to EAT. Isn’t that what it’s all about? My recipes are bold and vibrant, but totally approachable ~ and my philosophy? We should all have the tools to feed ourselves well, and the confidence to cut loose a little in the kitchen. Food should be fun!

Baileys Irish Cream Mousse

Hey friends❣️ 🍀 This happened when I whipped Baileys Irish Cream! Baileys Irish Cream Mousse I call this one of my 'emergency desserts', it's a no-bake wonder that you can whip up in a matter of minutes. The texture is light and creamy, and the flavor is layered with chocolate, vanilla, coffee, and a lingering hint of Baileys. It's not overly sweet and none of the flavors hits you over the head. I think you'll love it. I'm in full Irish mode right now, how about you? How to Make Soda Bread ~...

Swiss Cheese Fondue Soup

Hey friends❣️ My husband and I both loved this soup, and we had a lot of it! This recipe went through more rounds of testing than most, but it was worth it. If you love classic Swiss fondue, you'll definitely want to try it.
